RPkanavin: sounds like a good idea10:53
RPernstp: that looks like a really bad idea. We need to share permissions data between tasks10:54
kanavinRP: I am looking into adding repro test for sysroot-destdir, I guess that's the right direction?10:54
ernstpRP: it's only for that rm -rf10:54
kanavinor sysroot-components rather!10:54
ernstpRP:10:55
ernstpRP: working on https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1463610:56
RPkanavin: the native/cross reproducibility isn't as easy as it sounds as the native compiler can and will be different10:56
ernstpso Pseudo abort on rm -rf packages-split in the cleandirs step before do_package10:56
kanavinRP: right, didn't think of that :-/ but at least it can be made reproducible on the same host10:56
RPernstp: if you remove the file, you should be removing the entry from the pseudo db so I don't think that is right at all10:57
RPkanavin: right, we should test that we get deterministic results for rebuilding native/cross recipes on a given host10:57
ernstpRP: pseudo is complaining about two hardlinked files having the same inode number10:58
kanavinRP: I wonder if in the future we can offer a hard reproducibility option, on the condition that it involves building gcc-native10:58
kanavinnot now though :)10:59
RPkanavin: that is effectively buildtools-tarball-extended ;-)10:59
kanavinhah!10:59
RPkanavin: basically you'd just have to check everything in HOSTTOOLS comes from the tarball10:59
RPernstp: I can see how that patch makes the error go away but the real question is how the database is "corrupted" in the first place11:00
ernstpRP: I get it.11:01
RPkanavin: btw, was there issues with the go upgrade? I think there was a patch a while back but it was never rebased?11:01
RPkanavin: There are 3 CVEs in go atm out of 10 in OE-Core currently11:02
kanavinRP: yes, I asked the submitter to resend and they never responded. The good news is that I am about to start getting paid to make go support shine :)11:02
RPnasm, libarchive and qemu don't have patches, rburton is on the gmp one11:02
kanavinthat's why I did anything yet :)11:02
kanavin*didn't do11:02
RPkanavin: sounds good, you love a challenge :)11:03
ernstpRP: bitbake/lib/bb/fetch2/__init__.py:    cmd = 'export PSEUDO_DISABLED=1; ' + cmd ?11:04
RPernstp: what about it?11:05
ernstpRP: it fetches the source code with PSEUDO_DISABLED. And I got the error on package/usr/src/debug/tcp-wrappers/7.6-r10/tcp_wrappers_7.6/diag.c for example11:05
RPernstp: everything up to do_install is done without pseudo11:06
ernstpRP: can you point me in the right direction to find where tmp/work/cortexa7t2hf-neon-fslc-linux-gnueabi/tcp-wrappers/7.6-r10/pseudo/ is cleaned?11:07
RPernstp: it isn't, that is dangerous :/11:08
ernstpRP: oh...11:08
ernstpthat's why I didn't find it :-)11:08
RPernstp: I just had a look at a tcp-wrappers build locally and the files in ${S} aren't in my pseudo DB. This is with master though11:09
RPernstp: I can "bitbake tcp-wrappers -c package -f" which should do what you describe in the bug and I don't see any abort11:09
ernstpRP: i did a build, worked fine, enabled "GCC section removal", built again, fail when cleaning the old packages-split (from the previous run I guess) before do_package11:11
RPernstp: which host OS is this?11:11
ernstpRP: ubuntu 18.04, ext4 fs11:11
RPernstp: do you know if it is a totally standard ubuntu 1804?11:11
ernstpRP: it's not, running in Azure. like the extra horsepower when rebuilding everything...11:12
RPernstp: I'm wondering if there is some syscall we're not intercepting :/11:12
RPernstp: can you dump out a copy of the pseudo database after building tcp-wrappers successfully?11:14
RPernstp: I'd like to understand the pattern of files contained in it11:14
ernstpRP: ok11:14
RPI just checked a dunfell build and the pseudo database there for tcp-wrappers doesn't have ${S}/diag.c either but your database does for some reason11:16
ernstphttps://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/9waHszkn/11:20
ernstpRP: it's in there11:20
RPernstp: that looks strange though, all the directory entries are missing11:21
RPernstp: do you have debug splitting disabled? Are there .debug/ directories in the build or not?11:23

RPernstp: and this is with dunfell 3.1.12 i.e. latest pseudo updates from that branch?11:29
ernstpRP: yes11:29
RPernstp: nobody else is seeing this so it does seem like something changed in your environment11:29
RPernstp: actually, yes, that would explain it11:29
ernstpRP: I got the error when starting to test with gc-sections11:30
RPernstp: I'd bet you've removed the "empty" sections in libpseudo so we no longer intercept the appropriate function calls ;-)11:30
ernstpRP: ah!11:30
ernstpRP: i did require conf/distro/include/gcsections.inc, but that only adds it to target?11:32
RPI don't see that in my tree11:33

Guest25iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --dport 22 -j ACCEPT13:28
Guest25iptables -A INPUT -p udp -m udp --dport 5353 -j ACCEPT13:28
Guest25However the command returned these error messages, respectively.13:28
