ptsnevesamsobr: you should sync your sstate cache from time to time, depending on the activity your project sees. If you want to do the sync manually you can keep an eye out for the sstate cache match rate. Also keep in mind that there are no integrity checks on sstate cache artifacts so you should make sure your mirror is https and not tamperable12:04

The reason I would like it is so that failures fetching do not lead to broken sstate files, which is the case with wget running on bad networks. reatmonWe are trying to debug some pseudo errors that have popped up, but are having some issues related to the interaction with child processes.  In the file: meta/lib/oe/package_manager/ipk/__init__.py  under list_pkgs() it calls opkg to get the package list.  But the error check is on both the return code AND if there is anything on cmd_stderr.  But if you turn on pseudo debugging then there is always output on stderr.  Is there an easy15:05
reatmonway to disable debugging in this one call?15:05

Guest10My understanding is that since kernel 4.15,  the crda user space tool is no longer need and the direct firmware loading _should_ be the accepted path - I'm noticing I cannot update the wireless regdom using `iw reg set XX` , trying to figure out why this is the case.20:28

Guest10Yes - well I should say the wireless-regdb-static is installed20:50
Guest10https://pastebin.com/2g7F2m3a  shows the `CFG80211` settings20:51
Guest10both `/lib/firmware/regulatory.db` and `/lib/firmware/regulatory.db.p7s` exist as well20:52
khemyeah this means your kernel is expecting signed database20:52
khemis it signed with right keys ?20:52
Guest10Hmm, that's a fair question -  I am assuming from https://github.com/yoctoproject/poky/blob/yocto-4.0.12/meta/recipes-kernel/wireless-regdb/wireless-regdb_2023.05.03.bb, the key should be `sforshee.key.pub.pem` ?20:54
Guest10curiously it doesn't seem like that recipe is installing the public key when the `-static` package is used  (which seems to be the default when `wifi` distro feature is used https://github.com/yoctoproject/poky/blob/yocto-4.0.12/meta/recipes-core/packagegroups/packagegroup-base.bb#L27320:56
khemyeah just ensure that if the db is being resigned during build then its key is matching with kernel x509 cert20:58

khemsee - how BR does it http://lists.busybox.net/pipermail/buildroot/2020-June/588241.html21:04
Guest10maybe this is an issue because the `sforshee.key.pub.pem` isn't included in the image (since we aren't re-signing the db)21:07
khemyeah it should be included which kernel will use to check21:10
khemif it is configured for signed db21:10
Guest10Hmm, yeah it is - and it looks like it's getting the x509 as well (https://pastebin.com/2kAewSGD)21:11
khemmaybe signs are not matching21:13
Guest10yeah, I'm trying to figure out how to manually verify those signatures :)21:14
khemits perhaps being regenerated without signing21:14
khemlook at build21:14
Guest10I suppose I could disable the signing (in the kernel) and see if that gets rid of the error - that could point to the signature being incorrect.  I'm not sure what to look for in the build other than what is in that recipe I linked.  That doesn't appear to do any explicit signing21:16

khemI guess your spdx stuff21:50
RPkhem: yes, looks like it :(21:51
khemif your browsers dont like http these days so here is https link - https://snips.sh/f/_p0152WNDS21:51
RPkhem: can you tell if /mnt/b/yoe/master/build/tmp/deploy/spdx/by-hash/*/sstate:os-release:all-yoe-linux:1.0:r0:allarch:11:/os-release.spdx.json is present?21:51
khemyes its a symlink - /mnt/b/yoe/master/build/tmp/deploy/spdx/by-hash/allarch/sstate:os-release:all-yoe-linux:1.0:r0:allarch:11:/os-release.spdx.json -> ../../../allarch/packages/os-release.spdx.json21:52
khemand symlink does not exist :(21:53
RPkhem: missing a level of ../ ?21:53
khemits because I cleaned tmpdir21:53

khemhmm level seems ok21:55
RPkhem: I think it may be "allarch" vs "all"21:55
*** Vonter <Vonter!~Vonter@user/vonter> has joined #yocto21:55
khemall just has gcc-source and llvm-source21:55
khemyeah so whats difference between all and allarch.21:56

RPkhem: SSTATE_PKGARCH vs PACKAGE_ARCH21:58
khemhttps://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/KuaNMgjb/21:59
RPkhem: I mixed up things in my patch. I think I can fix21:59
khemso yeah we need one more indirection21:59
RPkhem: see the fixup I just pushed on the top of master-next22:01
khemok I was trying with 6f943984270 reverted22:01
RPkhem: I used the wrong variable22:01

RPcool22:05
khemnow killing the CI jobs :)22:05
khemRP: I am consistently seeing one failure in mdadm  on AB I see ptests all pass for it, so it might be clang or something but do you remember anything related to ptests and mdadm22:12
khemalso seeing 4 fails in valgrind22:13
khemhttps://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/oHgrtL7U/22:13
RPkhem: mdadm ptests are a nightmare, we've disabled a lot of them22:13
*** goliath <goliath!~goliath@user/goliath> has quit IRC (Quit: SIGSEGV)22:13
RPkhem: it could well be clang22:13
khemmdadm is22:14
khem{'mdadm': ['/usr/lib/mdadm/ptest/tests/10ddf-fail-spareFAILED_-_see_/usr/lib/mdadm/ptest/logs/10ddf-fail-spare.log_and_/usr/lib/mdadm/ptest/logs/fail10ddf-fail-spare.log_for_details']}22:14
RPkhem: I'd suspect it is clang since it does pass on the AB22:14
RPkhem: valgrind is also a pain, I can believe there are some tests that would be sensitive to your config22:14
khemyes, it would be good to remove the GNU'isms22:14
khemI will see if I can find something22:15
khemwhich improves this22:16
