d-fensmorning, is there a reason that "bitbake-getvar -r core-image-base DISTRO_FEATURES" would contain wayland vulkan and x11, istn't it meant to be console only?08:06
LetoThe2ndd-fens: not necessarily. those flags essentially just allow this to be built, respectively can trigger compilation feature flags. images and distros are orthogonal, so the only thing that tells you is "poky supports wayland, vulkan and x11", and contains no statement on your particular image.08:09

tomzy_0Hello, I got question about managing layers branches. Are there any guidelines about how branches should be updated? Usually there are branches per release (warrior, zeus, honister etc), master and master-next. Should the Yocto release branches (like zeus etc) be updated every couple of weeks? How often the master-next is merged into master? Should08:20
tomzy_0master be always the latest, up-to-date version of given layer?08:20

fullstopHi all.  I have a situation where I have two boards which are nearly identical and the differences can be limited to the device tree only.  Is it possible to build two dtb images for a single machine in Yocto?16:33
JaMafullstop: see meta-raspberrypi which builds many separate .dtbs16:35
fullstopI'm using the devicetree bbclass and PROVIDES = "virtual/dtb" right now16:35
fullstopJaMa: will do, thanks for the pointer.16:35

fullstopJaMa: I was seriously overthinking that task, btw.  If you supply multiple dts files in the SRC_URI it generates a dtb for each.17:05

fenrigHi I was wondering If its possible to implement my own SRC_URI implementation, or rather I wanna have a custom curl command in my recipe :)  I think the regex in poky/plain/bitbake/lib/bb/fetch2/__init__.py is a bit limited (I want to set my own user and pass, and the pass has some symbols that trigger the regex)17:35
rburtonfenrig: fix the regex?17:35
fenrigI'm not sure its possible without breaking the current implementation17:36
fenrigI was looking in decodeurl(url)17:37
fenrigm = re.compile('(?P<type>[^:]*)://((?P<user>[^/;]+)@)?(?P<location>[^;]+)(;(?P<parm>.*))?').match(url)17:37
fenrigI means for http it would look something like this: http://<user>:<pass>@<location>17:38
fenrigproblem is I have =, (, __ad in my password17:38
fenrigI'm sorry @17:39

rburtonthat regex just says "not / or ;" so that won't be the problem17:40
fenrigthe parser is giving me errors though17:40
JPEWfenrig: Can you put the password in your .netrc instead of SRC_URI?17:40
*** rber|res <rber|res!~rber|res@62-46-92-242.adsl.highway.telekom.at> has joined #yocto17:40
rburtonthats probably the better solution17:40
rburtonembedding credentials is a terrible idea17:41
rburtonthough feel free to add a test case which breaks to bitbake-selftest, there's a big url parsing test17:41
