AdrianFRP: When I tried to test "bitbake-setup update" it crashed with ValueError: I/O operation on closed file. But now it works. (But I don't like the user experience)08:17

But bitbake-setup update copies the complete git repository into a backup directory. Is the backup the way to go? Or should we try to rebase and fall back to a backup if rebase is not possible?08:21
RPAdrianF: I think the priority needs to not have destructive fetches, which then removes the readonly repo issue. We can then work on improving the user experience for the update itself08:22

Building 200+ different products from the same code base means that there are a lot of products specific details that need to be handled, which unfortunately leads to us having machine specific recipes all over the place. SaurRP: While I of course can do that, it does sound a bit odd since the error (at least from my point of view) is in the upstream code. I had another idea of how to solve it without having  to modify the `packagegroup.bbclass`. I can add a couple of lines to the anonymous python function in `insane.bbclass` (that already exists) and make it add a postfunc for the `package` task if `packagegroup` is inherited. Still not perfect, but at least13:06
Saurit keeps all the knowledge of the QA test to one bbclass. Alternatively, if it is possible to easily tell if a specific task (`configure` in this case) exists for a recipe, it could check that instead, which would remove the need to know that it is the `packagegroup` bblcass that is problematic and make it more generic.13:06
